About ATAK

Established by Keiichiro Shibuya and Maria in 2002, ATAK is an electronic music label and a collective of design, video and technology artists.

Keiichiro Shibuya

Musician. Born 1973. BA of Composition, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 2002, Shibuya has established ATAK, a music label releasing CDs of cutting-edge electro-acoustic works by various artists from all over the world.


In 2002, Maria founded an independent label ATAK and put together a laptop duo called "slipped disk", together with Keiichiro Shibuya. She, as a key member of ATAK, also directs many sound installations and visual works(video arts, etc). Her important role contributes enormously to the activity of the label in multimodal areas.


Sound artist. ATAK member. Head of “port”. Established his label “port” in 2004. Has been involved in projects ranging from sound design for various media, to system design for SONY’s and other manufacturers’ products incorporating cutting-edge technology. Frequently lectures at the University of Tokyo and Tokyo University of the Arts.

Semitransparent Design

design unit consists of toshiyuki sugai (device), ryoji tanaka (design) and yusuke shibata (program), designs various medias using graphic and network technology.
