Keiichiro Shibuya to Moderate Symposium on December 13 Exploring Next-Generation Artists and Art Management. A Public Cross-Disciplinary, Cross-Generational Discussion Featuring Takashi Ikegami, Shintaro Imai, Yoichi Umetsu, Hanna Saito, Rintaro Fuse.
A public symposium for emerging artists and those aspiring to work in art management will be held on Saturday, December 13 at Daikanyama Hillside Plaza. The symposium will explore the theme of “International Activities and Career Development for Artists,” featuring discussions on survival strategies for artists as they navigate divisions and transcend national borders.
The speakers include Takashi Ikegami, a University of Tokyo professor and leading researcher in artificial life; Shintaro Imai, a computer music composer and associate professor at Kunitachi College of Music; Yoichi Umetsu, an artist and founder of the art collective Parplume; Hanna Saito, known for works using slime molds that traverse the realms of science and art; and Rintaro Fuse, an artist who is also active as a curator and writer. Keiichiro Shibuya will serve as the moderator, fostering lively discussions that transcend generational and disciplinary boundaries.
The event will also include an announcement detailing ATAK’s training program for young creators who will participate in the company’s international co-production scheduled for its European premiere in 2027.
