Keiichiro Shibuya Makes His Debut at Blue Note Tokyo: A Special Session of Collaboration with Musical Mavericks.

A boundary-pushing musician exploring the intersection of technology and humanity, Keiichiro Shibuya makes his debut at Blue Note Tokyo with a one-night-only special session. A graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in composition, he founded the music label “ATAK” in 2002. His work spans a wide spectrum—from cutting-edge electronic music to piano solos, operas, film scores, and sound installations—and he is active internationally, based between Tokyo and Paris.

For this performance, Shibuya reunites with Naruyoshi Kikuchi for the first time in seven years. Joining them are bassist Ren Yamamoto—known for his work with LAGHEADS, Suchmos, and supporting Fujii Kaze—and drummer Masanao Matsushita, acclaimed for his wide-ranging activities with Gentle Forest Jazz Band, Yasei Collective, and MAKARA. Both Yamamoto and Matsushita will be performing with Shibuya for the first time. Together they will present Shibuya’s original works and covers in a jazz quartet setting, as well as a special duo performance with Kikuchi of Midnight Swan, Shibuya’s award-winning film score. The evening will also feature free-form sessions beyond conventional frameworks, promising a truly special live performance to illuminate a year-end night.
