Keiichiro Shibuya, a musician, composer, and producer who leads the renowned electronic sound label “ATAK,” continues to release cutting-edge works that have garnered attention both domestically and internationally. He actively collaborates with talents from other fields, including contemporary music master Yuji Takahashi, complex systems researcher Takashi Ikegami, and media artist Masaki Fujihata. In the summer of 2006, he presented a large-scale sound installation titled “filmachine” at YCAM (Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media), and in the fall, he released his latest album “ATAK008 Keiichiro Shibuya + Norbert Moslang + Toshimaru Nakamura.” This talk will introduce the trajectory of his evolving activities, which reject simplistic binaries such as creation/criticism, performance/composition, and repetition/difference.
