The Media Ambition Tokyo 2017 will open on Sturday February 11 again this year.Keiichiro Shibuya will perform in the opening live at Roppongi Mori Tower 52nd floor.

Shibuya perform with David Letellier (a.k.a. Kangding Ray)、Taeji Sawai and Justine Emard.

Keiichiro Shibuya

Composer, Musician. Born in 1973. BA of Composition, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 2002, Shibuya has established ATAK, a music label releasing CDs of cutting-edge electro-acoustic works by various artists all over the world. His major past works are “ATAK015 for maria“, ”ATAK022 Live in Paris”, etc.

 

In 2012 he has staged “THE END”, the world’s first vocaloid opera combining imagery and computer music, without starring any human performers. After that, “THE END” is performed in Paris, Amsterdam, Hambrug and Aarhus. Currently, “THE END” is requested to be played by several major art festivals in the world.

 

Now he is based in Tokyo and Paris. He does many cross-sectional collaboration works with researchers and artists including Takashi Ikegami (professor in the Department of General Systems Sciences at the University of Tokyo), Hiroshi Ishiguro (robot scientist), Hiroshi Sugimoto (artist), Jérémie Bélingard (Étoile of Ballet of the Paris Opera).

 

 

Justine Emard

 

Born in 1987. Lives and works in Paris, France

 

With different mediums (photography, video, installations, augmented reality..), she explores the image through the image of screens, frames and out of field ideas as well as interactions with devices which simulate the reality to project the audience into augmented and fictional parallel universes.
Graduated from the superior art school in Clermont-Metropole, she did a residency the same year in a virtual residency center and Videoformes (digital art festival) in 2010-2011. She showed her work in France and abroad during personal and collective exhibitions.
She collaborates with the Pavillon Neuflize OBC, the artist-in-residence programme and research lab of Palais de Tokyo between 2013 and 2016.

 

In 2015-2016, she had been resident at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (Montmartre) and in May 2016 she created the Parade for the End of the World performance with Jérémie Bélingard and Keiichiro Shibuya at the Maison de la Culture du Japan to Paris.

 

In 2017, she is laureate of the residence Hors-les-murs of the Institut Français and Tokyo Wonder Site in Japan.

David Letellier (a.k.a. Kangding Ray)
David Letellier, a.k.a. Kangding Ray at a well-known labels of “Raster-Noton” and “Stroboscopic Artefacts”.He howcases his entire artistic activity, especially the experimental sound piece inspired by his installation work of “Versus” in this event.

 

Taeji Sawai
Sound artist. He focuses on the effect sound gives under various environments to investigate the new potential of sound interaction. Sawai started to perform as portable[k]ommunity around 2000, and as a solo act, he gives radical performance to vibrate the eardrum of the audience by a particular method,using the wavelengths outside the audible zone.
